About AAFCS

AAFCS is a grassroots organization founded in 2022, dedicated to empowering the Asian Australian community to take meaningful action on climate change. Recognizing the unique cultural perspectives and challenges faced by Asian Australians, We work to raise awareness, promote sustainable practices, and encourage greater involvement in climate initiatives. Through culturally relevant engagement and leadership development, the organization amplifies the voices of Asian Australians within the broader climate movement.

AAFCS focuses on building climate literacy and addressing misinformation, while also creating spaces for meaningful dialogue and action. The organization engages with local communities through workshops, events, and advocacy campaigns, working with councils, schools, and other organizations to foster a climate-conscious mindset. By bringing together diverse voices, AAFCS aims to ensure that the Asian Australian community is represented and involved in shaping a sustainable future for all.

With a growing presence in Victoria, NSW and across Australia, AAFCS continues to build partnerships and expand its reach. From community events like cooking demonstrations and council stalls to participation in major conferences, the organization remains committed to empowering Asian Australians to lead in addressing the challenges of climate change.

Our Story

Asian Australians for Climate Solutions (AAFCS) began with a simple but profound belief: our diverse communities have a unique and powerful role to play in the fight against climate change. Founded by individuals who have seen firsthand the impacts of climate change on their ancestral homelands in Asia and here in Australia, AAFCS is more than an organization—it’s a movement born out of deep care and responsibility for the planet and future generations.

For many of us at AAFCS, the journey started with stories from our parents and grandparents—stories of migration, sacrifice, and the search for a better life. These stories taught us the importance of not wasting resources, of valuing every drop of water and every breath of clean air.

As first-generation Australians and recent migrants, we’ve inherited a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to preserving it for those who come after us.

Today, living in a country like Australia, we recognize the privilege we have—the privilege of access to resources, education, and a deeper understanding of climate issues. We also understand the urgency.

Our communities, both here and back home, are facing unprecedented environmental challenges, and we cannot stand by and do nothing. This is why AAFCS exists: to harness the power of our diverse Asian Australian communities to advocate for stronger climate action.

We bring people together, share knowledge, and inspire each other to take meaningful steps toward sustainability. We are committed to making a difference.

Reach out, share your ideas, and let’s work together to make a difference.
